6. Though it is supposed to be same 6 speed as 3.0 TDI, the throttle response behavior is much crisp and quick with 4.2 TDI. I don't know if this is just me who feels that way. The initial lag in 3.0 TDI has been eliminated to a very good extent. The beast seems ready to jump at the slightest hint of throttle action.
